A New-ish Thing

Welcome to the start of something new. Well it's not really so new after a few months but we'll try to keep it fresh by adding new content which is interesting and relevant to life here. The idea of this 'online community magazine' is to help keep people in touch with village news, events and activities and to encourage community involvement.

This isn't the first website about some aspect of life in Corfe Mullen but it's the first not to represent one single organisation: it's not here to tell you about one school, club or business but to be a public notice board, news source and village forum for everyone who lives here or has some connection here. The aim is to inform and connect people together, while remaining independent.

We've contacted schools, churches, clubs, societies and individuals, and there have been lots of positive noises about the likelihood of their future involvement; some are probably waiting to see what others contribute before committing themselves, which is understandable. Others have jumped in with both feet and offered practical help and contributed articles to get this going.

It's a modest beginning but as others find it, read it and decide to use it to tell others about their lives and interests, the content will grow to become a public window on life in Corfe Mullen.

We don't want to draw attention away from other local websites - we want to help promote them, so in the Village Directory (see above) you'll find links to all the ones we know about. Please let us know of any corrections or if there are others to be added.

We will always need fresh content, so please contact us with any ideas and suggestions, and if you have something to say which will interest others, use the forums and (when you're a registered user) start a discussion on almost any subject. If you start something, it's the beginning of a dialogue on a topic you choose, so you'll want to come back and read the thoughts you stirred up in others.

This was the beginning...
