Hello!

I’m Martin Walker from Corfe Mullen Family Church and in response to Andrew’s request I’m giving the faith blog a go. To be honest Andrew asked about this over 12 months ago but it’s taken me that long to think of some posts that may be appropriate for this forum. So, given that most of you don’t know who I am or haven’t met me, I thought I’d start by telling you the story of how I became a Christian which obviously in time led to me & my family moving to Corfe Mullen. It might take a few instalments (and I'll probably do them monthly) but hopefully it will be of interest to you.

So let me start with some background.

Growing up, I was part of a non-church, non-Christian family. We didn’t have a Bible in the house, and as I remember I was specifically not encouraged to go to cubs when I asked about it because it raised the prospect of going to church!

The only consistent religious influence I remember was at school. When I was at junior school we still had assemblies where traditional hymns were sung. I remember pondering the words from time to time, but that’s about it.
