Pictures

I realize I am probably missing something but I can not find any instructions on the web site as to how to add a picture to a comment. Help me please?

Sending pictures to CMO

I can't find where (I thought) I answered this before so here is an edited version of the reply I sent to Tess some weeks ago.

The answer on pictures at present is that you can't do it yourself. There are several reasons.

We need to be very careful about site content and an inappropriate image can cause a problem more quickly than dodgy text would. I originally thought that letting anyone post pictures was too risky but probably known people pose only a small risk, so this policy might change.

Also, you'd be surprised at the number of people who don't or won't follow simple instructions and try to do things their own way. On one site, people could post them but they ignored the clear guidelines and posted poor, blurry, oversized picture files and too many were duplicates, or dull or just pointless. So partly this is to do with standards, as well as 'decency' plus some legal responsibility questions.

I don't want to be oppressive in the level of control but it gets complicated and takes time to clear up other people's mess and it did cause some arguments and ill feeling on that other site.

You may be perfectly willing and able to follow any guidelines but allowing some but not others gets complicated again.

We'd be pleased to have some appropriate pictures; for now, I suggest that you email any pictures to us.

I hope this doesn't appear too restrictive, but we're trying to balance a number of things.

A timely reminder

A good time to remind people how to submit photos.

I'm sure lots of people will have taken photos of the Carnival and I'm looking forward to seeing some on CMO. Hopefully, you'll get enough for a Carnival Gallery.
